Dr. Yehuda Bauer was only thirteen years old when his family emigrated from Pargue, Czechoslovakia to Palestine. Dr. Bauer has since devoted himself to history and preserving its’ memory. He has held the Jona M. Machover chair at Hebrew University Institute of Contemporary Jewry. Dr. Bauer has been the editor of Holocaust Genocide Studies. He is also a member of the executive committee at Yad Vashem and a member of the editorial committee of Yalkut Morwshet, the main Hebrew Holocaust Studies Journal. Amongst his many other accomplishments, Dr. Bauer has been awarded the Israel Prize for “history of the Jewish people” in 1998. In addition, Dr. Bauer received the the Yakir Yerushalayim (Worthy Citizen of Jerusalem) award from the city of Jerusalem in 2008. Among Dr. Bauer’s eleven English Language books on the Holocaust are The Holocaust in Historical Perspective, Out of the Ashes and Jews for Sale.
